I have half of the recipe done. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow. What makes me smile is how worn the recipe card is and Mom’s calculations. Apparently a single batch was not enough for Christmases past, and a double batch was too much, but one and half batches was just right.

Storing Flour
Mom told us at lunch that Grandpa would get flour in the fall and store it in the attic. Then when they needed more flour, they went up to the attic to get it. Apparently it was a great place to keep the flour, because it stayed dry and good all through the year.
